Clío V6 Concept, o así se decidieron llamarlo en el salón de automóvil en París en el año 98. Un prototipo especial que replicaba la configuración ‘todo atrás’ del mítico Renault 5 Turbo.
A priori pudiera parecer un ejercicio de diseño, lo cierto es que se desarrolló pensando en llevarlo a la producción, como un modelo cercano a la competición pero homologado para circular por la calle. Tardó un tiempo, pero en 2001 vio la luz.
El elemento más destacado era su motor, un V6 que montaban los Laguna de la época, pero modificado para entregar una mayor potencia, 230 CV y 300 Nm de par máximo.
Produjeron dos fases de este proyecto de las cuales la más popular sería la segunda de ellas, donde aumentaron el rendimiento del motor hasta los 255 cv y acortando también los desarrollos de las machas logrando bajar el 0 a 100 de 6’4 segundos a 5’8.
El Renault Clio V6 es un coche bastante exclusivo a día de hoy ya que solo produjeron poco más de 1.600 unidades en cada una de sus fases.//Clio V6 Concept, or so they decided to call it at the Paris motor show in 1998. A priori it might seem like a design exercise, the truth is that it was developed thinking of taking it to production, as a model close to competition but approved for driving on the street. It took a while, but in 2001 it saw the light.
The most outstanding element was its engine, a V6 that the Lagunas of the time mounted, but modified to deliver greater power, 230 CV and 300 Nm of maximum torque.
They produced two phases of this project of which the most popular would be the second one, where they increased the performance of the engine to 255 hp and also shortened the development of the machas, managing to lower the 0 to 100 from 6'4 seconds to 5' 8.
